Argea is a public agency that is currently approved to exercise the functions of managing, paying and controlling body in relation to the financing of the EU agricultural policy for the Sardinia Region.
With the growth of the agency’s activities and with increasing responsibility for activities such as the disbursement of EU funds, the processes within the agency and towards stakeholders have become even more complex, requiring greater control and auditing of processes and activities.
The activities in the agency were mainly developed on a day-to-day basis with specialized state-approved niche tools for the disbursement of the grants and the staff uses the typical tools of a workstation, such as the Microsoft Office suite and other tools available on the local server.
With the increase in the agency’s responsibilities and the complexity of the processes, the establishment of an internal auditing department was needed, in order to analyze the processes, regularize problems, and create reports to be presented to the control bodies of the EU.
